SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to copy a file from your desktop computer to your Handheld PC (H/PC), you receive the following message if a file with the same name already exists:
If you click Yes, you may receive the following error message:
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if the file on your H/PC is marked with the Read- Only attribute.
RESOLUTION
To work around this behavior, remove the Read-Only attribute from the file on your H/PC before you attempt to overwrite it. To do so, follow these steps:
- On your H/PC, double-tap My Handheld PC.
- Locate the file that you want to overwrite, tap the file, and then tap Properties on the File menu.
- Tap the Read-Only check box in the Attributes section to clear it, and then tap OK.

Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
