SYMPTOMS

When you edit a linked Microsoft Excel object in PowerPoint by double- clicking it and making changes, those changes may not be reflected in your presentation.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the Microsoft Excel link in PowerPoint is not automatically updated.

RESOLUTION

You can force PowerPoint to update the links by clicking Links on the Edit menu and then clicking Update Now.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in PowerPoint version 4.0 for Windows. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
