The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Works for the Macintosh, versions 4.0, 4.0a, and 4.0b

SYMPTOMS

Fields in the Report Layout view of a database document do not align correctly even if the Snap To Grid option is used.

CAUSE

The Snap To Grid option correctly aligns report fields until a scroll bar is used. After you scroll in the document, the Snap to Grid settings are offset and the fields do not line up.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Works versions 4.0, 4.0a, and 4.0b. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

RESOLUTION

Try either of the following suggestions to resolve this problem:

  • While in Report Layout view, do not use the scroll bars before you complete alignment of all fields.

    -or-

  • Turn off the Snap To Grid option. Align fields manually.
