SUMMARY

You may receive the following error if you open a file from a floppy disk, remove the disk, and then try to save the file on another floppy disk or your hard disk:

Can’t find <filename>. Insert in <drive> and retry.

(Where <filename. represents the name of your file and <drive> represents the drive letter assigned to your floppy drive.) Cancel exits Publisher without saving. At this point you will need to insert the floppy disk that contains the original file or press CANCEL and lose any changes you have made to the file.

MORE INFORMATION

If you are trying to save the file on another removable disk of the same drive designation, you will need to save the file on some other drive, (preferably your hard disk drive) and then copy it to another floppy disk. Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
