Last reviewed: March 4, 1997

4.00 MACINTOSH kbusage
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh version 4.0
SUMMARY
In Microsoft Excel version 4.0 for the Macintosh, you must use the mouse to change border styles in the Border dialog box (from the Format menu, choose Border).
MORE INFORMATION
Although you can open the Border dialog box using alternate navigation keys (press /+T,B), once the Border dialog box is open, the only way to change the Border style is by selecting options with the mouse.
Steps to Reproduce the Problem
- To confirm that the alternate menu key is active, choose Workspace from the Options menu. (The default key in the Alternate Navigation Key box is the slash mark (/).)
- To choose the Format menu, press "/" then "T" (that is, the alternate
menu key and then the T key) and press the B key to select the Border menu option.
In the Border dialog box, you can select the upper-left border style by pressing the E key, but you cannot select a different Style option.
NOTE: Microsoft Excel versions 4.0 and 4.0a for Windows allow the user to change the Style option by pressing the arrow keys on the keyboard.
STATUS
Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
