SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Project, when you attempt to open an .MPP file, one of the following problems may occur:
The file is not opened and the filename “Project1” remains displayed on the screen.
-or-
When you start Microsoft Project, full menus are not displayed, and the default filename (Project1) is not displayed.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if you are running Microsoft Project with the DEC Terminal Emulation and you are using a KEYBRD.EXE or DECKYBD.EXE keyboard driver.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, remove or remark out (type REM at the beginning of the line) the lines in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file that contain KEYBRD.EXE or DECKYBD.EXE.
NOTE: In some cases, there may be an accompanying DECKYBD.SYS driver listed in the CONFIG.SYS file. If this driver exists, you must also remove or remark the line that refers to this driver.
