BUG: "API Library Not Found" Error with RELEASE LIBRARY

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft FoxPro for Windows, versions 2.5, 2.5a, and 2.5b

SYMPTOMS

If you issue the RELEASE LIBRARY <library name> command, an "API library not found" error message appears.

CAUSE

The current directory is not the library's home directory.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, either include the path to the library file as part of the command, or first issue a SET DEFAULT TO <directory of library file> command.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in FoxPro versions 2.5, 2.5a, and 2.5b for Windows. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
