SYMPTOMSAfter you have transported a screen from FoxPro for Windows to FoxPro for MS-DOS, strings in text objects may become truncated, or random characters may appear while you are editing a string. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in FoxPro 2.5 for MS-DOS. This problem was corrected in FoxPro 2.5a for MS-DOS. MORE INFORMATIONSteps to Reproduce Problem1. Start FoxPro for Windows. 2. Use the Screen Builder to create a new screen (no database is needed). 3. Select the Text tool, then click in the Screen Design window to position the text object. Type the following in the text object: This is some text 4. Save the screen as TEST.SCX (assuming you do not already have a file with the same name). Choose the No button when asked if you want to save environment information. Quit FoxPro for Windows. 5. Start FoxPro for MS-DOS, then open TEST.SCX. 6. The Transporter dialog box appears. Choose the Transport & Open button. 7. Save TEST.SCX and quit FoxPro for MS-DOS. 8. Start FoxPro for Windows, then open TEST.SCX. 9. Choose the Text tool, then click between the words "some" and "text" in the text object you previously created. Type "more" (without the quotation marks). The text object should now look like the following: This is some more text 10. Save the changes to TEST.SCX and quit FoxPro for Windows. 11. Start FoxPro for MS-DOS, then open TEST.SCX. 12.
