SYMPTOMSA "CRC Error" message (MS-DOS extended error 23: "Data Error - (CRC)") occurs during installation of FoxPro or FoxBASE+.
CAUSEWhen reading a disk, MS-DOS performs a cyclical redundancy check (CRC) to verify disk sectors. The CRC is a sophisticated parity check of the data in each sector and will detect most data errors, such as lost or scrambled bits.
RESOLUTIONTo determine if there is a problem with the disks:
