BUG: sys2070 Error When Running ODS Secure Sample on NovellLast reviewed: April 28, 1997 |
The information in this article applies to:
BUG# OS/2: 7541 (4.2) SYMPTOMSOn a Novell network, when you attempt to execute the following secure sample application, secure -SSQLHIDE -Fc:\sql\opends\query.log /N the OS/2 error message sys2070 is generated: Cannot demand load application segment. NETAPI.DLL in error. See sys0182 for further information. The documentation on the /N parameter on page 24 of the "Open Data Services User's Guide" implies that the secure sample application can be used on non- LAN Manager local area networks if the user specifies /N. This is not the case for Novell networks. WORKAROUNDThe secure application is only an example of how ODS applications can be coded. Novell users wanting to use the SQL command logging can rewrite the secure sample code to eliminate the LAN Manager-specific logic dealing with user ID security checking. The gateway sample application code can also be modified to log SQL commands it passes to the SQL Server. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server version 4.2 for OS/2. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available. |
