SUMMARY
In Microsoft Word for MS-DOS to remove the window borders from the screen with the View Preferences “Show Window Borders” option, the window must be maximized.
MORE INFORMATION
To maximize a window, from the Windows menu, choose Maximize (or press CTRL+F10). Even though you can deselect Window Borders in the View Preferences dialog box (apparently disabling the option), the border will remain intact until the window is maximized.
