SUMMARY
A specific landscape printer driver is not needed when printing in landscape orientation from Microsoft Word versions 5.00 and 5.50 to the following Hewlett-Packard LaserJet printers:
- LaserJet IID
- LaserJet IIP
- LaserJet III
- LaserJet IIID
- LaserJet IIISI
These printers support autorotation, which is the ability to rotate a portrait font 90 degrees to create a landscape font. When printing to any of the above printers, the orientation will be determined by the page length and height/length values, which are as follows:
Portrait: 8.5 inches wide, 11 inches high Landscape: 11 inches wide (14 for legal), 8.5 inches high
If the “page length:” field (Word 5.00) or the Section Margins Height text box (Word 5.50) is set to less than 9 inches and the “width:” field (Word 5.00) or Section Margins Width text box (Word 5.50) is set to greater than 9 inches, Word will send the page to the printer as landscape.
Note: The Word 5.00 terms for page size are “length” and “width.” The Word 5.50 terms for page size are “height” and “width.”
