Question: What does the following compiler error message indicate in a CHAINed to program? Using list must be 01/77 or word aligned
Response: This message is generated when compiling a CHAINed program with a LINKAGE SECTION, where the PROCEDURE DIVISION specifies CHAINING rather than USING. (USING should be used in this case.) For more information, see Pages 88-89 of the “Microsoft COBOL Reference Manual.”
