This early pre-release version of Microsoft Windows 1.0 was shipped to testers in January 1985. The next pre-release is Microsoft Windows Beta Release.

Machine requirements

This release is designed for users of IBM and COMPAQ personal computers running MS-DOS or PC-DOS, with a graphical display adapter (CGA and Hercules adapters supported), a floppy disk drive, and a hard disk drive.
