You experience problems in an Exchange 2003 and Lotus Note mixed environment after daylight saving time (DST) starts in New Zealand in 2007

Article ID: 937655

Article Last Modified on 10/25/2007

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Enterprise Edition
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Standard Edition

SYMPTOMS

After daylight saving time (DST) starts in New Zealand in 2007, you experience one or more of the following symptoms in a mail environment that uses Microsoft Exchange Server 2003:

  • The Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 client incorrectly translates times from other time zones to the New Zealand time zone.
  • The Outlook 2003 client incorrectly translates times from the New Zealand time zone to other time zones.
  • The Microsoft Office Outlook Web Access client incorrectly calculates the end time of a meeting.
  • Lotus Notes incorrectly calculates the end time of a meeting.
  • When an Exchange 2003 user receives a meeting request from a Lotus Notes user, the Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Connector for Lotus Notes takes the time zone of the server that is running Exchange 2003 as the time zone of the Lotus Notes sender. Therefore, the time zone of the Lotus Notes sender is incorrect.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install the latest version of the Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Connector for Lotus Notes and the latest version of the Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Calendar Connector for Lotus Notes.
