APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0

SYMPTOMS

When you run a report in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, the report pre-filtering screen is blank. Additionally, the screen is blue. When this problem occurs, you cannot edit the filter. Additionally, you cannot run the report.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if a filter condition that is used in the pre-filtering functionality references a field that is not searchable in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, temporarily make the field searchable in the Advanced Find feature. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Click Settings, click Customization, click Customize Entities, and then double-click the entity that contains the field that you want to make searchable.
  2. Click Attributes, click the attribute that you want to change, click More Actions, and then click Edit.

Note The Searchable picklist field appears in the Attribute dialog box.

  1. To make the field searchable in the Advanced Find feature, click Yes.

Note To make a field not searchable in the Advanced Find feature, click No.

  1. Click Save and Close two times.
  2. Click Publish.

MORE INFORMATION

After you make the field searchable, you can modify the filter to delete the fields that you do not want to be searchable. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Click Workplace, and then click Reports.
  2. Click the report that you want to edit, and then click Edit Default Filter on the More Actions menu.
  3. Click to the left of the row that contains the field that you do not want to be searchable, and then click Delete.

Note Repeat this step for all the fields that you do not want to be searchable.

  1. Click Save Default Filter.

After you update each report that references the fields that you do not want to be searchable, you can make these fields not searchable. To do this, follow the steps in the "Workaround" section. However, click No in step 3.

Note To determine the fields that the pre-filtering functionality references, download and then open the report. Then, search for "condition attribute." Each field that is followed by "condition attribute =" is a field that the pre-filtering functionality references for the report. If any of these fields is not searchable, you will experience the problem that is described in the "Symptoms" section.
