The U.S. Energy Policy Act of 2005 was passed by the United States Congress in July, 2005. This Act extended daylight saving time (DST) in the United States by approximately four weeks. Therefore, beginning in 2007, DST will start three weeks earlier on March 11, 2007, and will end one week later on November 4, 2007. The new DST period is four weeks longer than previously observed. These four weeks are referred to as the "extended DST period." For more information, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

INTRODUCTION

An update for DST changes in 2007 is now available for computers that are running Subsystem for UNIX-based Applications (SUA) in Windows Vista.

Note Subsystem for UNIX-based Applications is available in the following versions of Windows Vista:

  • Windows Vista Ultimate
  • Windows Vista Enterprise

MORE INFORMATION
