INTRODUCTION

An update that addresses the changes to daylight saving time (DST) in 2007 is available for Windows Server 2003 R2-based computers that are running Subsystem for UNIX-based Applications (SUA) and for Windows Vista-based computers that are running Subsystem for UNIX-based Applications (SUA).

MORE INFORMATION

Currently, the Windows time zone to Windows-to-Portable Operating System Interface (POSIX) zone information file mappings are inconsistent. Additionally, the files and not comprehensive. For example, Pacific standard time (PST) is mapped to Tijuana, a Mexican city. However, when you use the PST time zone, Mexican time settings are applied. This behavior causes the computer to ignore American DST changes in the PST time zone.

This update makes the Windows-to-Portable Operating System Interface (POSIX) time-zone mapping consistent and comprehensive.

Note This update addresses this problem for all time zones. These time zones include U.S. time zones and Canadian time zones. Additionally, this update supersedes update 934110. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
