- Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Mobile Edition
Bug #: 50000879 (SQL Hotfix)
SYMPTOMS
On Microsoft Windows Powered Pocket PC 2003 ARMV4-compatible devices, managed applications that use Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Mobile Edition may stop unexpectedly. This problem occurs if the location of the SQL Mobile DLLs changes.
CAUSE
When the SQL Mobile DLLs are unloaded from memory, the associated window class stays registered. The next time that the DLLs are loaded into memory, the window class still points to the earlier location because the window class was not unregistered. This behavior causes the crash.
The correct behavior is as follows:
- The window class is unregistered when the DLLs are unloaded.
- Then, the window class is reregistered when the DLLs are reloaded.
