SUMMARY
Microsoft has released a service pack for Microsoft Office Project 2003. This article contains information about how to obtain the service pack and about how to obtain a list of issues that are fixed by the service pack. Additionally, this article contains information about the issues that you may experience when you install the service pack and about how to determine whether the service pack is installed.
INTRODUCTION
Microsoft Office Project 2003 Service Pack 3 (SP3) contains significant security improvements in addition to stability improvements. Some fixes that are included with this service pack have been previously released as separate updates. This service pack combines them into one update.

Multilingual User Interface Pack
This article describes the changes in Project 2003 Service Pack 3 and in Project 2003 Service Pack 3 for Multilingual User Interface Pack. If you use Project 2003 Multilingual User Interface Pack, you should install both Project 2003 Service Pack 3 and Project 2003 Service Pack 3 for Multilingual User Interface Pack to make sure that Project 2003 is up to date.

New and updated features
After you install Project 2003 Service Pack 3, you can use Project 2003 to open Project 2007 files that are not protected by a password. When you open a Project 2007 file in Project 2003 Service Pack 3, the Help task pane opens to notify you that the Project 2007 file cannot be edited in Project 2003.

Removal information
You cannot remove this download by using Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel. To remove Project 2003 Service Pack 3 from the computer, you must remove Project 2003 and then reinstall Project 2003 from the original Project 2003 CD.

The administrative service pack consists of a full-file Microsoft Windows Installer file (.msp file) that is packaged in a self-extracting executable file. The following .msp file is distributed in this service pack:

Features for reinstalling specific components for administrators
If you update your administrative installation point, and you recache and reinstall Project 2003 on client computers, you can run a command line that includes the REINSTALL=[list of features] property. This property specifies whether you want to reinstall specific components of Project 2003 from the administrative image. For Project 2003 Service Pack 3, the value for [list of features] is as follows:
