SUMMARY
INTRODUCTION
This article lists the Microsoft COM+ bugs that are fixed in the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 COM+ 1.5 Hotfix Rollup Package 9. Each hotfix rollup package contains all the fixes that were released in the previous Windows Server 2003 COM+ 1.5 hotfix rollup packages.
Issues that are fixed in this hotfix rollup package
This hotfix rollup package fixes the following issue:
917399 FIX: Event ID: 4811 occurs when you try to start a queued COM+ application that has a long name and Microsoft Message Queuing is configured for Workgroup mode in Windows Server 2003
This hotfix rollup package fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
- When a COM+ application uses XML Enterprise Services tranasactions, you may receive an ArgumentException exception from the IDtcProxy.ShimFactoryReceiveTransaction method. Then, the application stops responding (hangs).
- When DCOM has an authentication level of "None" (AuthLevel=0), you may experience TCP port exhaustion.
- When a non-delivery report (NDR) calls the GetBuffer method in COM+, COM+ sends data according to the buffer length of the SendReceive method instead of the buffer length of the GetBuffer method.
- After consolidation occurs in the IStorage::Commit(STGC_CONSOLIDATE) method of a COM+ application, streams in transaction sets should have their caches emptied.
- The COM+ Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MS DTC) may shut down because of an inconsistent state.
- You may experience memory fragmentation that is caused by the Msdtcprx.dll library.
- You cannot view or edit the MachineLaunchRestriction and MachineAccessRestriction settings in the Dcomcnfg.exe utility.
- A race condition between the marshal and release of the ole32!CStdWrapper method in a COM+ application causes ole32!CtxEntry objects to be reference counted incorrectly.
