If your ISP is not an Xbox-compatible high-speed provider, this article contains basic troubleshooting instructions that may help you connect. However, you may have to contact your ISP or the manufacturer of hardware that you use to connect to the Internet for more help.
Troubleshooting steps
- Run network connection tests from the Xbox Dashboard:
- Move to the System section of the Xbox Dashboard.
- Select Network Settings.
- After the connection tests automatically start, note the point at which the problem occurs.
- Test to see whether you can view Web pages on your computer. Test by trying to view a page that you recently visited.
- If you cannot view Web pages, test to make sure that all connected devices are correctly connected and turned on. Verify that light indicators are on or show activity. Some of the relevant indicators to examine may have the following labels:
- WLAN
- WAN
- Data
- Sync
- Power
- Status
- If all devices are turned on, but you cannot view Web pages, contact your ISP for help.
