Issues that the hotfix package fixes
This hotfix package also fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
- When you create baseline totals for multiple non-adjacent tasks in a Project 2003 project, the Baseline and the Baseline 1 fields do not display the correct totals in the Project Summary Tasks totals.
- If a local resource or local material resource is listed two times in project plan, a duplicate of the resource is created when you save the project. Every time that you save the project again, the number of copies of the local resource doubles.
The software update will prevent the problem in the future. However, the software update does not clean up the existing duplicate resources. To clean up the existing duplicate resources, follow these steps:
- Open the project plan that contains the duplicate resources in Microsoft Project.
- On the View menu, click Resource Sheet.
- On the Insert menu, click Column.
- In the Field name list, click Unique ID, and then click OK.
- Locate and delete all the duplicate resources. This leaves only the resource that has the smallest unique ID.
- On the File menu, click Save.
Note The save operation may take a long time after the initial deletion.
