Deceptive software
Deceptive software includes programs that take over your home page or search page without your permission. There are a number of ways that deceptive software can install on your computer. A frequent trick is to covertly install the software during the installation of other software that you want. For example, when you download an add-on toolbar for Internet Explorer or a music or video file sharing program, the deceptive program may download at the same time.
