SYMPTOMS
When you click the Microsoft Word 2002 button on the Microsoft Windows task bar to switch to a document that is already open, Word 2002 may quit unexpectedly with an access violation.
Note Word 2002 may quit unexpectedly without the access violation.
CAUSE
This problem occurs when you use the Japanese version of Word 2002 with handwriting recognition support installed.
RESOLUTION
How to obtain the hotfix

WORKAROUND
Use one of the following methods to work around this problem:
- Press ALT+TAB to switch to an open Microsoft Word document.
- On the Windows menu in Word, click the open document that you want to switch to.
- Remove handwriting recognition support in Microsoft Office XP.
