  • Microsoft Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server

SYMPTOMS

When the Message Journaling feature is enabled in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server and you compose an e-mail message where the display names of the recipients in the Bcc box of the message contain double-byte character set (DBCS) characters, the DBCS characters may be displayed incorrectly in the copy of the message that is stored in the journaling mailbox. The DBCS characters are displayed as garbage characters.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the mailbox store driver uses the incorrect code page to convert the DBCS characters in the Bcc box to Unicode format. The mailbox store driver incorrectly uses the ANSI code page, instead of using the UTF8 code page.
