SYMPTOMS

When you click Go in the Find Shape dialog box in Microsoft Visio to search for a shape, the Find Shape dialog box may unexpectedly disappear.

When you click within the document window, the Find Shape dialog box may then reappear.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if you change the Find Shape dialog box to a floating window.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, dock the Find Shape dialog box. To do this, right-click the title bar of the floating Find Shape dialog box, and then click Dock Window on the shortcut menu that appears.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
