OL2002: Error Message if You Add the Outlook Address Book First When You Create a New Profile

Article ID: 289494

Article Last Modified on 7/27/2006

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft Outlook 2002 Standard Edition

This article was previously published under Q289494

SYMPTOMS

When you create a new profile in Outlook 2002, you may want to add a profile without e-mail services. If you try to add the Outlook Address Book before any other service to the profile that you created, you may receive the following error message:

The profile name you have entered already exists. Please enter a different profile name.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because the E-mail Accounts Manager automatically adds an Outlook Address Book when a new profile is created.
