SUMMARY

This article describes some known printing issues in the programs listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

Light Colored Graphics or Text May Not Be Printed

Some printers interpret light colored graphics or text as white space and do not print these objects.

To resolve this issue, use a darker color for the object.

Project Border and Background Are Separated

The programs listed at the beginning of this article draw any borders in your project after they render the background of the project. A gap of one pixel in width remains between the interior edge of the border and the outer edge of the background.

In most projects, this gap is not noticeable. If the gap is noticeable, you can reduce the visual effect of the gap by selecting backgrounds and borders that are similar in color.

White Text on a Black Background May Not Be Printed As Expected

If you attempt to print white text on a black background to a PCL printer in Vector Graphics mode, the text may not be printed.

To work around this issue, configure your printer to use Raster Graphics mode.

NOTE: These two modes are not available for all printers.

Contact the manufacturer of your printer for specific instructions about how to change the printer mode.

If these modes are available for your printer, you can generally select the mode that you want to use on the Graphics tab in the Printer Properties dialog box.

To determine if these modes are available for your printer, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
  2. Right-click your printer, and then click Properties.
  3. Click the Graphics tab, if present. Check to see it the Vector Graphic mode or Raster Graphic mode settings are available.
