Configure a Default Printer

To configure a default printer:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
  2. Right-click the printer that you want to use as your default printer, and then click Set as Default Printer.

Note If a printer is not installed on your computer, follow these steps to add a new printer, and then configure the printer to be the default printer.

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
  2. Double-click Add Printers, and then follow the instructions on your screen to complete the Add Printer Wizard.

Update Your Printer Driver

To check the version of the printer driver you are currently using:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers.
  2. Right-click your printer.
  3. Click Properties, and then click the General tab.
  4. Click Print Test Page.
  5. The driver version number is printed on the test page.

If you are using a different printer driver than the most current driver that is available on your printer manufacturer's Web site, download and install the latest printer driver for your printer.
