SYMPTOMS

When you install Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 4, the Msdis110.dll file is not updated.

CAUSE

The reason for this problem is that a recent file version is already installed on the operating system.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install the latest service pack for Visual Studio 6.0.

STATUS

Steps to Reproduce the Behavior

  1. Install Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 Enterprise Edition on a system with Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 3.
  2. Search for the version number of the Msdis110.dll file.
  3. Install the Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 4.
  4. Search for and view the properties of the Msdis110.dll file, and note the version. The Msdis110.dll file is not upgraded during the Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 4 installation.
