SYMPTOMS
If you open a document that was created in an earlier version of Microsoft Word using a right-to-left (bidirectional) language, such as Arabic or Hebrew, the text is formatted for Engrave.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, follow these steps:
- Select the text that is formatted for Engrave.
- On the Format menu, click Font, and then click the Font tab.
- Under Effects, click to clear the Engrave check box.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Word 2000.
