This article lists the minimum system requirements that a computer must have to run Microsoft Fable: The Lost Chapters.

Minimum system requirements
To play Fable: The Lost Chapters, your computer must meet or exceed the following minimum system requirements:
- One of the following Microsoft Windows XP operating systems:
- Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
- Microsoft Windows XP Professional
- Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition
- A computer that has a 1.4 gigahertz (GHz) equivalent or higher processor.
- Microsoft DirectX 9.0 or a later version of Microsoft DirectX. Microsoft DirectX 9.0c is installed by Fable: The Lost Chapters.
- 256 megabytes (MB) of system RAM.
- 3 gigabytes (GB) of available hard disk space.
- 32x speed or faster CD-ROM drive.
- 64 MB shader-capable video card.
- A sound card and either a set of speakers or a set of headphones are required for audio.
- A Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device.
To determine whether your computer meets the minimum system requirements to play Fable: The Lost Chapters, you can use the DirectX 9.0 Diagnostic Tool (Dxdiag.exe). To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click Run, type dxdiag.exe in the Open box, and then click OK.
- Click the System tab. Note the Processor and Memory values.
- Click the Display tab. Then, under Device, note the name of the video card and the Approx. Total Memory value.
- Click Exit.
Supported video hardware
To play Fable: The Lost Chapters, your video hardware must have access to a minimum of 64 MB of memory. Additionally, your video hardware must support Hardware Pixel and Vertex Shaders. Additionally, your video hardware must pass a system check when you start the game. If you receive the following error message, your video hardware did not pass the system check.
