SYMPTOMS
When you are printing a drawing that has layered shapes containing text, the text may appear in the printed output when it does not appear in the drawing or in Print Preview. This behavior can occur when both of the following conditions are true:
- You are using Microsoft Windows 98 or Windows Millennium Edition (Me).
-and-
- You are printing to a Hewlett Packard LaserJet 4 or 5 PCL printer.
-and-
- The shape containing text is covered by another shape that has an opaque, non-white fill.
CAUSE
The printer driver incorrectly prints all the text on a page regardless of the layers.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, print by using a different printer driver or use the LaserJet III driver that comes with your version of Windows.
