SYMPTOMS
When you print a drawing that has layered shapes containing text, the text may appear in the printed output even when it does not appear in the drawing or in Print Preview.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs if all of the follow conditions are true:
- You are using a Microsoft Windows 98 or Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me)-based computer.
-and-
- You print to a Hewlett-Packard (HP) LaserJet 4 or 5 PCL printer. -and-
- The shape that contains the text is covered by another shape that has an opaque, non-white fill.
The HP printer driver incorrectly prints all the text on a page regardless of the layers.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, use a different printer driver, or use the LaserJet III driver that comes with your version of Windows.
