Monitor size + resolution comparison

Post by bob »

Could anyone who has a 1920x1200 resolution 24" TFT please post a photo (not a screenshot) of it running windows or firefox or something? I'm thinking of buying a new monitor (to replace a 19" TFT @ 1280x1024) and I cant visualise the physical size and how it would look running apps etc.

Cheers!

Not mine, but you get the point. I'm just in the toolbar on the second screen

Left screen is a 24" Widescreen LCD, right screen is a 19" LCD

thats what I wanted, ty

it doesnt seem disproportionately oversized compared to that 19" or the keyboard, and yet there looks to be enough screen space for several windows open at the same time.

awesome.

I was going to take a picture for you, but realized I don't know where my camera is and my phone just got stolen It's the 28" Hanns-G from Newegg that was on sale for $330 after black friday (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6824254026). Great monitor, does have a bit of bleed through on the edges (might take it apart eventually and fix that) and the VGA connection sometimes goes wonky (need a new video card with DVI), but other than that I love it.

Just this morning I purchased a new Acer 19" monitor to go with my 22" monitor. Here's a picture of my somewhat messy desk:

I know its not a 24" but never mind.

Pleh, I wish I could get a nice big monitor like that for my desktop... I'm still using a 17" CRT that can't go above 1024*768...

You can grab a 19" Samsung LCD here for about $160AUD (£75.52). The price, and the fact noone makes CRT's these days means that LCD's really aren't a luxury item anymore.

Though I don't know why one would print it out and paste it to their wall....

19" here. Not really happy with it. No HDCP support or DVI ports.

If we're currently talking about Monitor Sizes and Graphics Cards...

At home, I have 3 Asus 19" WS LCDs; 2 of them are for Multi-Monitor, and the 3rd which is heat damaged (I attacked some ants with a blow-torch...the ants were infront of said monitor) is used for when I decide to muck around with Need for Speed games and Flight Simulators (I have the Steering Wheel and Pedals and Flight Yoke bolted to my desk).

Both Multi-Screens are hooked upto a Single Nvidia 7600GT (AGP with DVI-VGA-SvideoHDOut), and the 3rd is hooked upto a PCI Nvidia 6200 (Haven't had the time to play around with it yet).

All 3 run at 1440x900. (I can up the Resolution up even more by doing some maths and setting a Custom Resolution, Asus seems to have included features in their LCDs that aint suppose to be there.)

All rigged into a P4 2.8Ghz, 1Gig System. lol. (I'll upgrade when the need comes for it.)

Very nice, the HP's have my favorite panels inside (really nice color quality, anyone who talks about panel types and viewing angles and refresh rate and contrast ratio and color accuracy needs to just shut up and appreciate a good monitor). Unfortunately they are kind of expensive (the 22" - w2207h - goes for about $250).

Anyone looking to upgrade, Office Depot has 19" at $130 and 22" at $170 (acer, I think).

My GTX 260 comes in on Thursday. Wouldn't mind gaming some time, but don't know how your 1.3GHz Celeron is going to hold up. Maybe your parents can get you a nice Core 2 system, you can find them for around $300 with 3GB of RAM.

Considering I run 3 SA:MP servers, it's always handy to have them quickly accessible. The 3 sheets above that are the Xadmin 2 commands.
