Windows 95 build 216 is the earliest leaked Beta 2 build of Windows 95 and the first leaked build from the 2xx range. Its appearance is very similar to the final product.
This build was first leaked to the warez scene by "Mickeysoft" of the warez group "Nokturnal Trading Alliance" (NTA). It was later found on a DAT tape and releaked by BA member Darkstar on the 14th of May 2010.
Installation
Installing from Windows 95 boot floppy:
- Prepare disk with
fdisk
, reboot, then format (format C:
). - Change path to the CD-ROM and run
setup
. - Accept the default settings, fill in required information and then continue to the file copying process. You may also customize the features to be installed.
- When complete, remove floppy and reboot.
Changes from build 189
- The boot screen now says "Starting Windows 95 ...".
- New Start menu.
- The minimize, maximize and close buttons were modified.
- Timebomb is now present in this build.
