Windows 8 was released to manufacturing on August 1st, 2012.
An 64-bit Enterprise edition of Windows 8 N was leaked on August 2nd, 2012 by WZOR. As the name implies, this edition did not include Windows Media Player. The new Music application was also absent, and while the new Video application was included, it could not play any video files.
The Windows 7 Media Feature or Media Format Feature packs are not able to be installed.
