SUMMARY
To draw a border around a cell in Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, versions 4.0 and 5.0, using PostScript, do the following:
- From the Insert in 4.0) menu, choose Table. (In Word 4.0, choose Insert Table from the Document menu.)
- Type “.cell. .5 setlinewidth wp$box stroke” (without quotation marks) in the cell you want to format. Press RETURN.
- Highlight the text and format it as PostScript.
- When printing, make sure to have the Print Hidden Text selection cleared in the Print dialog box (on the File menu).
The above method draws a border around a table cell of 0.5 point width (there are 72 points per inch). Change the number “.5” in the text to obtain the desired width for the border. If the number is greater than 1, the border will be wider than the standard single-width border; if the number is less than 1, the border will be thinner.
