HP DESKJET PRINTER VERSION 3.0 PROBLEM SUMMARY
---------------------------------------------------------------------- Problem 1: Color charts and graphics print as green (composite black) and display as red and shades of blue in print preview ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Solution: See Workaround. Workaround: All Charts must still be inserted into the Word Processor to print colors correctly. Use Paste Special with the type set to Picture or Bitmap to paste. (Note: Paste Special, Picture produces a better print, but the driver must have Dithering set to Pattern or Scatter for the screen colors to print). Cause: The command used by Works for Windows for solid color fills does not work for this driver. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Problem 2: Slow printing with or without Print Manager ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Solution: See Workaround. Workaround: If you are using a DeskJet 500 or earlier: - For Windows 3.0: Install the HP DeskJet Family Printer Driver from Windows. It supports all internal fonts. - For Windows 3.1: Install the HP DeskJet driver from Windows 3.1. It supports all internal and TrueType fonts. (Note: Both of these drivers will print significantly faster, even with Use Print Manager enabled). If you are using a DeskJet 500C or 550C, update the driver to the HP DeskJet driver version 3.1. (Note: The Windows 3.0 DeskJet Family Drivers or the Windows 3.1 Universal Driver can be used if color printing is not required). Cause: All fonts printed from this driver are sent as graphic data. The Windows Print Manager by default is ignored.
