Last reviewed: September 12, 1996
Article ID: Q97149

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Excel for Windows, versions 2.x, 3.0, 4.0, 4.0a
  • Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh, versions 2.x, 3.0, 4.0
  • Microsoft Excel for OS/2, versions 2.2, 3.0

SUMMARY

The "Microsoft Excel Function Reference," (the "Microsoft Excel Functions and Macros" reference for Microsoft Excel for 0S/2 versions 2.x) indicates that all of the arguments for the PASTE.SPECIAL() function are required. This information is incorrect; if one of the PASTE.SPECIAL arguments is not specified, it will be assigned the default value.

The following is a list of the four arguments for PASTE.SPECIAL() and their default settings:

   Argument Default Value
   -----------------------------

   paste_num 1 (All)
   operation_num 1 (None)
   skip_blanks FALSE
   transpose FALSE
