SYMPTOMS
When you view contacts and view users in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, the Microsoft Office Communicator presence status does not display the current status of contacts and the current status of users. This problem occurs if you use an Internet-Facing Deployment (IFD) of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the URL that you use to access Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 is not in the list of trusted sites in Windows Internet Explorer.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, add the URL that you use to access Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 in the list of trusted sites in Windows Internet Explorer. To do this, follow these steps:
- Log on to the computer from which you access the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 Web client or access the Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Microsoft Office Outlook client.
- Click Start, point to Programs, and then click Internet Explorer.
- On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
- Click the Security tab.
- Click Trusted sites, and then click Sites.
- In the Add this website to the zone box, type one of the following URLs that you want to use:
- The URL that you use to access the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 Web client
- The URL that you use to access the Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Microsoft Office Outlook client
- Click Add.
- Click Close, and then click OK.
