This article describes the Microsoft Live Communications Server 2005 bug that is fixed in the 945057 hotfix package.

INTRODUCTION

List of issues fixed

This hotfix fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

  • Live Communications Server 2005 may randomly stop responding (hang). When this problem occurs, end-users can no longer send or receive instant messages.

This problem occurs because of a time-out timer processing problem in Live Communications Server 2005. This problem occurs because the ObjectManager component in Live Communications Server 2005 may take locks in an incorrect order. Therefore, a deadlock condition may occur in the ObjectManager component.
