INTRODUCTION

This article describes how to upgrade a computer where Windows Live OneCare 2.0 is installed from Windows XP to Windows Vista.

When you install Windows Live OneCare, the version of Windows Live OneCare that is installed depends on the operating system on the computer. For example, the version of Windows Live OneCare that is designed for Windows XP will not work as expected on a Windows Vista-based computer.

To install the correct version of Windows Live OneCare, uninstall the Windows XP version of Windows Live OneCare before you upgrade a computer that is running Windows XP to Windows Vista. After the computer is upgraded to Windows Vista, reinstall Windows Live OneCare. When you reinstall Windows Live OneCare after you upgrade the computer to Window Vista, the Windows Vista version of Windows Live OneCare is automatically installed. Therefore, all the files that are required to run Windows Live OneCare on a Windows Vista-based computer are installed.
