Error message when you try to import a package that has been upgraded multiple times in SoftGrid: "Error code: 0000BD39"

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft SoftGrid, you try to import a package that has been upgraded multiple times. When you do this, you may receive the following error message:

The version lineage specified for Package (GUID) is invalid. Error code: 0000BD39

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the package was previously upgraded and imported in the SoftGrid console 20 or more times.

RESOLUTION

This issue is resolved in the latest version of the SoftGrid 4.1 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Softgrid 4.2 clients. For more information about SoftGrid 4.1 SP1, see the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, you must re-sequence the program. Or, you can click Save As and then branch the package as a new package when you save it.
