SYMPTOMS
When you restart a computer that is running Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service stops unexpectedly for several minutes. Also, the following Error event is logged in the event log:
Event ID : 1000
Source : Microsoft Exchange Server
Type : Error
Description : Faulting application store.exe, version xxxx

RESOLUTION
Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Prerequisites
You must have Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2) installed before you install this hotfix because of file differences.
Restart requirement
You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix. However, the Microsoft Search service, the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service, the Internet Information Services (IIS) Admin Service, and all the dependent services are automatically restarted when you apply this hotfix.
Hotfix replacement information
This hotfix does not replace any other hotfixes.
