SYMPTOMS

You create a Trend Analysis Chart report in Microsoft Office PerformancePoint Server 2007 Monitoring and Analytics. When you enter a value in the Forecast Period field in PerformancePoint Dashboard Designer, you receive the following error message:

Unable to connect to the specified server. Make sure the address is correct.

CAUSE

This issue occurs when you use Microsoft SQL Server, Standard Edition. Trend Analysis Chart reports use SQL Server Analysis Services Data Mining algorithms. These algorithms are a component of SQL Server, Enterprise Edition.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use SQL Server, Enterprise Edition.
