SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 with Service Pack 1 (SP1), you open a Microsoft Visual C++ project that you created in the release version of Visual Studio 2005. When you do this, the project dependencies may be lost.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, it is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Visual Studio 2005 service pack that contains this hotfix.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use the Project Dependencies dialog box to examine the project dependencies. Then, correct the actual project dependencies.

Note To open the Project Dependencies dialog box, click Project Dependencies on the Project menu.
