The hotfix that is discussed in this article is not available for the Chinese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM or for the Japanese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
SYMPTOMS
When you modify a Knowledge Base article template in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, the published articles that are based on the template are unexpectedly changed. When this problem occurs, you may also experience the following symptoms:
- When you update the content of an article after you reorder the sections of the article's template, the content of the article is updated incorrectly.
- You delete a section of the template. Then, you add a new section to the template. In this situation, the content of the section that you deleted is displayed unexpectedly in the new section.
RESOLUTION
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, it is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 service pack that contains this hotfix.

Installation information
Install this hotfix on computers that are running Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 server and the Microsoft Dynamics CRM laptop client for Outlook.
After you install this hotfix, delete the temporary files in Windows Internet Explorer. To do this, follow these steps:
- Start Internet Explorer.
- On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
- Follow the appropriate step:
- In Windows Internet Explorer 7, click Delete in the Browsing history area, and then click Delete files in the Temporary Internet Files area. Then, click Yes.
- In Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, click Delete Files in the Temporary Internet files area, and then click OK.

Restart requirement
If you are prompted to restart the computer, you must restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.
Removal information
To remove this hotfix from a computer that is running Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, or Windows 2000, use the Add or Remove Programs item in Control Panel. System administrators can use the Spuninst.exe tool to remove this hotfix from a computer that is running Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, or Windows 2000.
