Various problems may occur when you install Antigen 8.0 for IM build 1536 on a computer that is running Live Communications Server 2003

SYMPTOMS

After you install Sybari Antigen 8.0 for IM build 1536 on a computer that is running Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2003, Antigen does not scan instant messages. Additionally, AntigenRTCProxy is not listed as a registered application for Live Communications Server 2003. One of the following error messages is logged in the Antigen program log:

"ERROR: Unable to connect to RTC Server, error is 'File or assembly name ServerAgent, or one of its dependencies, was not found.', retrying ..."

"ERROR: Unable to connect to LCS Server, error is 'File or assembly name ServerAgent, or one of its dependencies, was not found.', retrying ..."

Additionally, the following event is logged in the event log: Source: AntigenRTCProxy
Category: None
Event ID: 0
Type: Error
Description: Unable to connect to RTC Server, error is 'File or assembly name ServerAgent, or one of its dependencies, was not found.', retrying ...


CAUSE

This problem occurs because the required ServerAgent.dll file is missing from Antigen 8.0 build 1536.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:

  1. Stop all Antigen services.
  2. Copy the ServerAgent.dll file from the Live Communications Server 2003 installation directory to the Antigen installation directory.
  3. Start the Live Communications Server service.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

MORE INFORMATION

This problem does not occur if one of the following conditions is true:

  • You update Antigen 8.0 for IM from build 1531 to build 1536.
  • The computer is running Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005.

Note If you upgrade Live Communications Server 2003 to Live Communications Server 2005, you must remove the ServerAgent.dll file from the Antigen directory.
